Spend a weekend in the calm town of Senta, in a comfortable and spacious building built at the beginning of the 20th century. In the centre of the town, yet always in peace and quiet.

The river Tisa is rich in fish, you may fish in a boat or under the hundred-year-old chestnut trees. Take a boat trip, or roast bacon at a campfire! You can take a trip around the nearby villages and observe the traditional, rural way of living, work habits and celebrations. Take a peek into the town's ample cuntural diversity, take part in our local programmes.
Taste the local food specialties! Discover the works of the over 100 civil organisations in town! Visit the Museum, Gallery, and the House of Old Trades! Take a look around from the Town Hall's tower! Buy a souvenir made by the town's craftsmen!


Zenta lies in the northern part of the Vajdaság region, 42 kilometres south of the frontier at Röszke, and to the right side of the Tisa river.
The first written dicuments about Senta are from 1216, when the town's name was 'Zyntharew'. Senta recieved the title of free royal town from king Ulászló II. This is the place where Prince Eugene of Savoy defeated sultan Mustafa II in 1697. We know this as the Battle of Senta, when he saved the whole of Europe from Turkish domination. The guesthouse is located in the Petőfi Sándor street, which is the continuation of the main road (Fő utca) about 400 metres from the towncentre (see the map of Senta). There are various grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants and shops nearby. The local bus stops in front of the guesthouse. The bus station is only 200 metres away. The partially renovated, large civilian building from the early 20th century provides a calm and silent atmosphere thanks to the thick walls and roomy interior.

Guesthouse Patina served as home of our family for several years. Many memories tie us to 'granny's house'. But as time passes, our beloved ones leave us, and we must decide what to do with the esatate if we do not wish to sell it.

I hope I did the right decision when I changed the over 100 years old, 18 room house bearing marks of the age of Hungarian Secession. Now there is only one apartment with 2 rooms, a hall, kitchen and bathroom and a small inside yard. The rest of the house is still under renovation, we have a lot of work left both inside and outside.

The apartment works as a 'house with a key', where peace and quiet are guaranteed. Smoking is'nt allowed inside the house, but it is in the small yard. You may also have dinner, an early morning coffe or even sunbathe here. The apartment is about 100 square metres large with 3 beds in each rooms. You may also request beds and appliances for children. Excellent accomodation for people coming for family trips, weddings, festivals, for sportsmen and musicians. The furniture represents the 19-20th century. In summer it's quite cool even without air conditioning. In winter we use a tile stove to add to the constant heat provided by the electric stove.
